100% Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the first expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in the box and comes from the land where Cabernet Sauvignon is king. Juicy and full with luscious dark fruits this wine will compliment any red meat.
Milfort is a great example of the changes in winemaking in France during the last decade. It still maintains its sense of place while taking on some of the positive elements of New World Winemaking. Bordeaux is known as the birthplace of Cabernet Sauvignon and it is where it gives its grandest expression. I was introduced to this wine by Sean, one of my favorite winemakers. Decidedly French with an American father, he really understands the wine bridge between France and America.
Bordeaux is located in the Southwest of France a few hours north of Spain and along the Atlantic Ocean. They have been growing wine here since the Roman Empire and you can still find remnants of their time here in the vineyards. It is an area with wet cold winters filled with Steak and Duck Breast... and a little bit of Cabernet Sauvignon.
