About this Wine

This wine is elegant and robust with a rich amount of dark berries and plums on the palate with a hint of leather. It has round firm tannins with a powerful finish. It will pair well with Roast Pork and Grilled meats.

Normally it is a winemaker or producer that leads us to a wine. With this wine it was the other way around. While dining at a hotel in Lisbon on a layover, I ordered a bottle of this wine because it was a local wine. The label was stunning when it arrived and when I tasted the wine, the wine was even better. It is rich and full and I had happily finished a glass before dinner arrived. I took the almost empty bottle with me and as soon as I was back in my room I sent the producer an introduction and asked about the wine. Estremadura

You may have heard of the Estremadura region in the past. This has historically been the region west and north of the city of Lisbon. This region is now know as Lisboa. They make bold red wines in this area and it is where Tinta Roriz really performs. It is a friendly area with great food and weather and it one f the most popular destinations in Europe. It has a reputation of being very welcoming and safe with a lot of great wine. This area should be on any short list of travel destinations.
