The color of this Gascogne White Blend is yellow with slight inflections of green. The wine is full of apples and citrus with a hint of grapefruit and grass on the nose. It is plump yet lively and has excellent fruit and acidity. It has a pleasant and lasting finish. It will pair well with Grilled almon or Oysters.
This is a wine I have been drinking in France for years. The white wines from this region are fruity and friendly with good acid and enjoyable year round. It is a wine that until now I have not shared. I am excited to be able to finally share this wine and this region. A lot of this wine is consumed in and near the Bordeaux area as well as Gascogne because of their close proximity to Bordeaux and to the seaside and oyster farms.
Gascony is an area in Southwest France. With its sweeping valleys and pure countryside, it is easy to understand why it is sometimes compared to Tuscany. The area is know for its wines, its food and Garlic. This is also the area where Armagnac is produced. It is an area rich in history and identity and the birthplace of Charles de Batz de Castelmore, better known as D'Artagnan.
